Many touring companies will force you to pay money ahead of time and it is very difficult to get it back. At best, you can hope for a voucher if there is a cancellation due to weather. Adventure Cape Town will not ask you to pay until the day of your trip. Flexibility is huge on Semester at Sea and you do not want to commit to something so far in advance. Your enjoyment while traveling can depend a lot on your company so wait until you know some people you would like to travel with and then notify us about the adventures that interest you.

-SAFETY:

Some of these adventures are extreme and safety is our priority. If the weather is not suitable for the trip, we will not accept any money and reserve the right to cancel. If the swell of the ocean is too big, we will not risk taking any shark diving trips. Several companies still take tourists out in the water and give them a shortened shark diving experience so they can collect the money. It is simply not worth it.
